Today on my way home from paying my tuition mum and I saw a rather unusual sight on the side of the road, 4 baby raccoons with no mother in sight. So we pulled into the nearest vet and had them call animal control services and then went to protect the little things with my mothers car (yea blocked off part of a ending lane with the 4-way flashers on). I then called again about 10 min later to find out where the Animal control services people were, they WEREN'T coming! Apparently according to the animal control act they couldn't come and deal with the baby raccoons because they couldn't relocate the babies more than 1km from where they were found or come to shoo em into the bush or anything.

THIS IS DESPICABLE!!!! 4 baby raccoons, next to a major town road, and they wouldn't come to do anything?!

... I just don't get it...

So after I found out that they wouldn't be coming out to fix the situation [info]dl_shipper34 and I shooed them as far into the brush as we could.

I really hope that I don't see those little things as road kill on anderson because of the stupid law that prevented animal control from coming out to help them.

I really want to do something, I SHOULD do something, but I have no clue what. It is so close to Christmas and I don't want to harass my neighbours, but if I don't no one will. Most of them are old and probably don't even care, or won't care unless harassed.

Sometimes I really wish all buildings were immune to fire, all people immune to sickness and everything was happy go lucky at Christmas like when I was little.

Yeay for friends to bounce ideas off of (and to correct spelling mistakes :P), thank you [info]zebi ,[info]goleafsgo , [info]kldraco  you're all great!

So from the original list:

1. Maple at the back needs to have the solid green taken out of it. (it is a variegated maple so to keep the two tone solid green needs to come out) : done
2. Impatients need to be put in around japanese maple at the front of the house  done and thankfully I didnt have to do it
3. the two mints and the shasta daisy need to be planted - the mints still arent in
4. silver mounds need to be moved. (gotta wait till clematis isnt in bloom any more) - clematis is still flowering
5. bush at the front needs more trimming. - mum is debating
6. Juniper tree is coming down. - not happening this year
7. Big maple needs to be trimmed. (there is dead wood and dad wont go up and do it himself... looks like ill be doing it) - think ill be doing it once all the rain stops and its not forcasted to do any more so i have dry ground.
8. need to find a spot for the pot of herbs

so a chunk of the list got done... but now the joys of having a big maple tree; maple keys... yesterday mum and i spent 2 hours cleaning up the little things and there are a bunch back today... messy messy messy tree. O well... it gives shade.

I will post pictures of where herbs are and such once the mints get in... so hopefully this weekend.

Why is it so hard to let go...

So as quite a few of my friends know three years ago I lost one of the people I've ever been emotionally close to; the first person I loved. Well in 10 days would have been his 25th birthday.

Even once that torn out spot of my heart has been rebuilt why is it so hard to let go? I wish I knew.

Until recently I haven't really had "feelings"; I've been numb. Now that they are back I kinda wish they hadn't come back at all. It's odd having to relearn what it means to feel; also terrifying.

Gardening Adentures for today

  • Jun. 2nd, 2008 at 12:11 PM
bug
1. Got the weeds out of the lawn. (for now)
2. Got the Basil, Chamomile, and Marjoram into a pot.
3. Got the bush at the front of the house partially trimmed.

Then the Weedman truck came around. Which really really sucks. I will be so happy once the legislation comes into effect that they cannot spray those chemicals any more. They hurt my head. So gardening cut short for today.

What still needs to happen:
1. Maple at the back needs to have the solid green taken out of it. (it is a variegated maple so to keep the two tone solid green needs to come out)
2. Impatients need to be put in around japanese maple at the front of the house
3. the two mints and the shasta daisy need to be planted
4. silver mounds need to be moved. (gotta wait till clematis isnt in bloom any more)
5. bush at the front needs more trimming.
6. Juniper tree is coming down.
7. Big maple needs to be trimmed. (there is dead wood and dad wont go up and do it himself... looks like ill be doing it)
8. need to find a spot for the pot of herbs

As you can see still alot need to be done but no more productiveness today :(

Stuff to do...

  • May. 30th, 2008 at 7:55 PM
bug
Why is it that stuff to do always piles up? such as cleaning and gardening? My room is a disaster, the weeds need to be taken out of the lawn and the garden (any one know how to get rid of Creeping Charlie easily?). With my room being a disaster I still need to wash the curtains in here... I keep sneezing because its dusty and its driving me NUTS!

Now, before someone says "Well go clean it then" : I have a very short attention span and things that bore me such as cleaning I spend like 5 minutes on and then get distracted, on occasion by something shiny... yes... I can get that easily distracted while cleaning, OR I get overly focused, the day disappears, and its a mess from me trying to clean it.

I think I have to much stuff, yet there is still more I want/need to get/ want/need to make...gah... maybe i should start with my desk since I'll be sitting at it to be on the computer till like june... thats a rant that I'm not wanting to get into right now :P

So I have to do this rather lengthy report for my business communications class and I have chosen to do it on Wastefulness in Society. If you wouldn't mind could you please send friends and family to http://michelle.couvrette.googlepages.com/home to fill out the survey?  It would be a great help.

On the note of school.... still at honor roll WOOTS!

Alright this may be a rather lengthy rant as its going to have to go back in time quite a few years so as a warning if you do not want to read a rant dont bother reading this particular post

So, since I was little I have had issues with pulling information out of things I read or remembering things I see. It's now coming back to fucking haunt me that my schools over the years have done NOTHING about it.

When I was in elementary school I was top of my class, this is where my mom screwed me over in this because she used to help me to such a degree she would basically pull the information out for me, therefore not letting the school see that I was having issues therefore not having me identified and now having it so that I might end up loosing 2 courses now that I'm in college.

My highschool told me if I wanted help I would have to fail because they didn't have the money to help kids who were in the higher strain of classes who were getting 60% due to class work and not doing any of their assignments because they couldnt. STUPID FUCKING ANDERSON. They probably did have the money but just didnt want to spend it. Now it could cost me two of my courses out of 6 AND 1800 to be tested because I'm not going to be OSAP eligable because I'm a trust fund kid. HOW STUPID IS THIS : they need me to waste the 2 hours applying for OSAP when i could be recording my textbooks to try to not loose my classes so that they have physical proof that I'm not eligible when i told them my dad makes to much and my name is one of the names on an education fund! I dont have that type of time while im trying to keep myself a float.

Oh and lets mention that when i went in for my appt today for the learning stratigist that she couldnt determine that i had a learning disability because i can speak and write well. I only write well either when im mad or when i can say the words outloud to myself to make sure they make sense. I HATE this, I might loose 2 of my fucking courses because i can speak properly! GAH!!!

Rant may continue later but my figers are starting to hurt

Driving with Ghosts isnt fun

So I was driving down the road and I knew there was no one in my car because i had just dropped

[info]goleafsgo off at her place and the next thing i know i look at my back seat (i had my rear view flipped down because it was night time) and I see my friend who happens to have been dead for coming up on 3 years in march. so i like said out loud "WHAT THE FUCK!" and the next thing i knew he was gone. So i was sitting there for a good 3/4 of my way back to my place telling him yes i love it when he comes to visit me and make me feel loved but not when im driving down a road with no lights on it at 1 am (its a pretty un used road at night and therefore has no lights in sections)

so once i was on my street he appeard again but this time he was laughing, I have a feeling my claddagh ring may go missing tonight, we shall see

Alright... yes i know i cant say my brain is being stupid and actually recognizing it being stupid but my subconcious is part of my brain.

As a couple of you know a few years back i had a massive issue with my subconcious and was diagnosed with a conversion disorder.

So now it comes to my realization that im turning 19 tomorrow... yes yes i know hapy birthday have fun all that crap. Well for me its kinda freaky... i have to go to the doctors soon to deal with a bad neck that is having a weird swelling effect on the back of my head.  The reason for this being freaky is because shortly after my friends 19th birthday he was told that he wouldnt live past his 21 birthday. If you believe in soul mates this kinda freaks me out because alot of people say it is your first love that is your soul mate... well i dont even wanna think of that... please tell me im just over reacting... please tell me im just being a pessimist... o and yes... happy birthday wishes are still acceptable as well :P

so what is it with some people and not asking for drives when you actually make plans like 4 weeks prior? WTF ok seriously youd think common courtesy if you dont drive to ask someone in your house early enough so that they may say yea and not be NO find your own way or your friend can come get you. Well i happen to be driving THE OTHER FUCKING DIRECTION with little long distance experience... im not going from down town shwa to fucking markham and then back. so if he cant get a ride or get his ass up to take the bus he can fucking stay home i dont care any more
